Privacy policy
What we collect through this website, why, and how to contact us about it.
This website is run by the Bradford branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). CAMRA is the data controller for personal data collected here and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through the website's forms:
| Form | What we collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Contact form | Your name, email address, message, and who you chose to contact | To pass your message to the right committee member and reply |
| Volunteer sign-up | Your name, email address, what you'd like to help with, and any message | To get in touch about volunteering |
| Award nominations | Your name, CAMRA membership number, nominations, and email if you give it | To check you're a member and count nominations |
Each message is emailed to the committee member concerned and kept in the branch's website editor, which only branch volunteers can sign in to. To stop the forms being misused, we keep a scrambled code made from your internet connection's address, not the address itself, for a short time.
How long we keep it
We delete contact messages and volunteer sign-ups once they've been dealt with, and award nominations once the awards are decided.
Cookies and visit counting
This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing about your visit is sent to Google or any other company.
To see which pages are useful, the website counts visits itself. For each page you open it records the page, the website you came from, your type of device, browser, screen size, language and time zone, which downloads and links you click, and how long the page was open. It doesn't store your IP address. Instead it makes a code from your connection and browser, scrambled with a random value that's replaced every day, so we can count visitors without being able to recognise you on another day. These records are kept for 13 months. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, your visits aren't counted at all.
Fonts are served from this website, not from a third party. Links to other websites, including CAMRA's national site, are covered by those websites' own policies.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Email webmaster@bradford.camra.org.uk. CAMRA's data protection officer can be contacted at dataprotection@camra.org.uk, and CAMRA's full privacy policy explains your rights in detail. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the ICO.
